  1. Introduction

ForgeHR provides resources and services to people interested in HR frameworks, systems and processes to help SMEs thrive. The privacy and security of our audience and clients are of paramount importance, so we’re committed to protecting the data you share with us. This privacy policy explains how ForgeHR processes information that can be used to directly or indirectly identify an individual (‘personal data’) collected through the use of our website and services.

For the purposes of this policy, the term ‘visitor’ will be used to encompass all types of people interacting with ForgeHR, including site visitors, clients and customers.

Any information stored by ForgeHR is treated as confidential. All information is secured and accessed only by authorised personnel, with appropriate security measures in place to protect against breach or loss.

  1. Collection and use

2.1 Email and personal details
If you are a visitor to our website, you may be offered various downloads, offers or services. Should you choose to contact us via “Contact ForgeHR” you will be asked for your name, phone number and email address. If you want to access a part of ForgeHR that is not freely available, e.g. a lead-gen offer or paid product, you will be asked to provide your name and email address and agree to receive ongoing (relevant) communications. If you do not grant the requested consent, accessing the special offers may not be possible.

ForgeHR will not ask you to provide sensitive information eg details of your racial or ethnic origin, political affiliations, religious beliefs, sexual preferences, criminal convictions or health information. If for any reason ForgeHR needs to collect sensitive information, ForgeHR will first ask you to opt in to its collection, use and disclosure in accordance with this privacy policy.

Depending on which offer you are accessing, your data will be processed in one or more of the following ways:

a) added to the ForgeHR email marketing list on MailerLite, who themselves adhere to privacy laws with strong security;

b) when you open or click links in our emails, your action will be automatically noted so that ForgeHR can serve you better.

At no time are credit card details processed by ForgeHR itself, nor are they stored on the ForgeHR’ host server.

2.2 Use

ForgeHR uses your personal information for purposes that are consistent with and related to the purpose for which you provided the personal information. These purposes include doing business with you, communicating with you in a more effective manner, providing customer services and performing research and analysis so ForgeHR can improve its services to and communications with you.

2.3 Cookies
Cookies are temporary, small pieces of information sent to a visitor’s hard disk. They can’t run programs or deliver viruses, nor can they track your behaviour in alarming ways. The Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics are both cookies used by ForgeHR, exclusively for the purpose of tracking which pages on the ForgeHR website you have visited and for how long. These types of cookies are used by ForgeHR to ensure we deliver content our visitors enjoy and find useful, as well as to create effective marketing campaigns.

If you are on Facebook or Instagram, they may result in you being shown our ads.

Although most browsers are initially set to accept cookies, you may reset your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie or to reject cookies generally. Most browsers offer instructions on how to do so in the ‘Help’ section of the toolbar.

2.4 Links to other sites

Please be aware that when we link to other sites outside ForgeHR, they are outside our sphere of influence. We cannot be held responsible for their content, nor their privacy policies.

2.5 Right to review and update

If you would like to get access to, review or amend any of your personal data held by ForgeHR, please contact us.

  1. Retention and deletion

3.1 Automated unsubscribe

At the bottom of every email sent by ForgeHR, you will see an ‘unsubscribe’ link. By clicking on the link you can instantly stop all automated communications to you from ForgeHR, however, this will include support for paid products and services.

3.2 Manual unsubscribe

If you are a client of ForgeHR and we have a working relationship, hitting unsubscribe does not cease other communications, particularly if we are mid-project. These are normal professional communications and will cease at the completion of the project.

3.3 Right to be forgotten

You have the right to request ALL your data is stripped of personal identifiers. As a general subscriber, this means you’d be deleted from the list.

3.4 Deletion

ForgeHR will only keep your information for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which you provided it to us or for a longer period in order to comply with our legal obligations.

  1. Information from children

We are committed to protecting the privacy of children. Our offerings are generally not designed for or directed to children and are only for use by individuals who are 18 years and older. On our website, we do not collect personal data from any person we actually know is under the age of 18. In the online space particularly, parents or guardians are urged to participate in their children’s exploration of the Internet and to teach their children about protecting their personal information while online.

  1. Acceptance of these conditions

We have the right to assume all visitors have carefully read this policy, particularly when they are explicitly agreeing to its terms. If someone does not agree with this policy, they should refrain from using our website or offers. We have the right to update our privacy policy as necessary, and this will be reflected with versioning details as per the top of this policy.

  1. Sharing and storage of personal information

ForgeHR will not sell, rent or trade your personal information. When you provide us with your personal information, you give ForgeHR your consent to share the personal information with external service providers who perform services on our behalf. For example, ForgeHR may engage other businesses to assist in data storage, direct marketing, conduct audits, fulfil orders and shipments and host websites. They are only provided with such personal information as they require to provide the service.  

By providing ForgeHR with your personal information, you consent to the use and storage of the personal information outside Australia. 

  1. Our legal obligation to disclose personal information

We will reveal a visitor’s personal information without their permission only when we are required to do so by law.

  1. General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’)

If you are in the EU and provide personal information to ForgeHR, that information will be transferred to another country that may have different levels of data protection laws. Where local data regulations require it, ForgeHR has:

a) put in place security measures for the export of personal information from its country of origin; and 

b) made arrangements with those receiving your personal information, that they will put security measures in place and that your personal information is processed in accordance with EU data protection laws.

In addition to your other rights under this privacy policy, you are also entitled to:

a) receive transparent information regarding the processing of your personal information;

b) restrict the processing of your personal information;

c) your personal information being portable and accessible upon request; 

d) object to the processing of your personal information; and

e) if you have consented to the processing of your personal information, you have the right to withdraw that consent.

ForgeHR treats all complaints about a breach of the privacy laws applicable to you seriously. We will investigate your complaint or concern and respond to you within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right, depending on the jurisdiction, to make a complaint to the applicable regulator. In Australia, the applicable regulator is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. In Europe, the applicable regulator will be the local regulator in your jurisdiction in Europe.
